Steven W. Zoffer is a shareholder and the Secretary/Treasurer of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote P.C. His practice focuses on business litigation, including the areas of technology, computer law, appellate practice, franchise law, contracts/collection, general corporate law, and insurance company law, with a particular emphasis in commercial litigation.
Mr. Zoffer chairs the firm’s Technology Law Group and co-chairs the Commercial Law and Litigation and Corporate Services Practices. These groups provide litigation and non-litigation services to Pittsburgh, regional and national companies, including defending and pursuing lawsuits in the state and federal courts as well as providing various business agreements, employment contracts, consulting services, licensing, security, and joint venture agreements.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Zoffer clerked for the U.S. Attorney General’s Office: Special Prosecutions Division and the U.S. Department of Justice: Board of Immigration Appeals in Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, and the Office of the District Attorney of Allegheny County: Appellate Section in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Mr. Zoffer is a frequent lecturer on Technology, Commercial Litigation, and Insurance matters and has written about Technology as well as Environmental Law in various publications including The National Journal of Environmental Regulation, Property and Casualty Insurance Magazine and Insurance Advocate as well as local trade publications and the Pittsburgh Business Times.
Mr. Zoffer is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, and Washington D.C. Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice before the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, District of Columbia Court of Appeals, and United States District Court for the District of Columbia. He is also a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, American Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, District of Columbia Bar Association, Duquesne University School of Law Alumni Assoc., Federal Circuit Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Pennsylvania Defense Institute, The Pittsburgh Technology Council, and The Western Pennsylvania High Technology Council.
He has been selected by attorneys throughout the country as one of The Best Lawyers in America® in the field of commercial litigation since the 12th edition. In his capacity as Secretary/Treasurer of the law firm, Mr. Zoffer was also elected to the Global Register’s Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals, as well as the America’s Registry of Outstanding Professionals. Additionally, he maintains an AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell and was named to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers® as one of 2009’s top attorneys in Pennsylvania.
Mr. Zoffer graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1988 with degrees in Political Science and Business. He received his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Juris Law Journal and received the Distinguished Student Award in 1991. |
